BIMserver.center incorporates a 3D Wind Engineering software for urban planners, structural engineers and risk analysts.

  • The VENTO AEC software determines the impact of wind on buildings and urban spaces, simulates natural ventilation inside homes and simulates how the wind influences the spread of smoke and toxic gases in cities.

Our platform continues to grow with the addition of a new developer. On this occasion, the VENTO AEC software is now available through our BIMserver.center from where it can be downloaded. This tool has been designed for architects, structural engineers and risk analysts who need to carry out simulations and studies with regards to the impact the wind generates on buildings, structures and urban spaces.

Furthermore, this software is also capable of simulating how the wind influences and transports gases in urban and industrial areas or natural spaces. The software, which is developed by an Italian company VENTO CFD based in Cagliari, works on a geometrical model to carry out simulations in three specialised areas:

  • Wind loads on buildings and structures. The software analyses and simulates the impact and loads exerted by the wind, according to its force and pressure distribution on buildings, facades and windows. Users can use this tool for the structural stress analysis of buildings.
  • Natural ventilation. Air quality is essential for the well-being of the people who use a space, whether at home, at work or in leisure facilities. To achieve this, a good HVAC system and natural ventilation are necessary. The VENTO AEC programme is capable of simulating the ventilation of these spaces, and even of tunnels and mines, to achieve the best natural ventilation.
  • Transport of contaminating gases. When there is an accident involving gas leaks or toxic gases, the wind plays a key role in how it spreads in urban, industrial and natural areas. To minimise and prevent damages from this, VENTO AEC is capable of carrying out simulations to find out where the wind will carry these gases to and in what timeframe. This is highly useful information when it comes to increasing safety.

VENTO AEC is available now on BIMserver.center and joins other software tools developed by the Spanish company CYPE, alongside those of companies such as APLITOP, Datacomp Sp z o.o, Fundación Laboral de la Construcción and Televés.
